Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: July 15, 2026

Welcome to Sewn In The Wood. By browsing our website, booking a custom design consultation, or purchasing our products, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before initiating a custom design process.

1. Custom Consultations & Bookings

  • Custom design slots with Ashley Wardlow are limited and require a consultation to secure.

  • Any consultation fees or booking deposits required to reserve your timeline are non-refundable, as they secure dedicated studio time and pattern-making resources for your garment.

2. Measurements & Sizing

  • For custom pieces, garments are handcrafted precisely to the specific physical measurements provided at the time of your consultation or sizing submission.

  • Sewn In The Wood is not responsible for garments that do not fit perfectly due to weight fluctuations, body changes, or incorrect measurements submitted by the client after the initial design finalization. Any structural alterations required due to client changes after creation begins will incur additional alteration fees.

3. Payments & Pricing

  • Prices for our handcrafted custom gowns (including Prom, Bridal, and Special Event pieces) are determined by design complexity, material costs, and labor hours, and are finalized during your consultation.

  • For custom work, a minimum deposit (typically 50%) is required before sourcing materials or starting any construction. The final remaining balance must be paid in full prior to or at the time of your final fitting, and before the garment leaves our studio or is shipped.

4. Intellectial Property & Design Ownership

  • All custom sketches, patterns, design concepts, and media created by Ashley Wardlow remain the exclusive intellectual property of Sewn In The Wood.

  • We reserve the right to photograph, film, and share the creative process and final results of all custom garments on our website and social media platforms for marketing purposes, unless explicitly opted out by the client in writing prior to construction.

5. Limitation of Liability

Sewn In The Wood strives for absolute structural perfection in every garment. However, our total liability for any delay, material defect, or fulfillment issue is strictly limited to the total monetary amount paid by the client for that specific custom piece.
